Hey everyone! I’m a little slower at getting this post up than I’d like, but we had an appointment with our midwife this morning on top of the usual to-dos that I needed to get done first. Our appointment went great – baby is doing well, I have a “bumpdate” post to share this week – and I have a few minutes to type up this post before heading off to work…
Over the weekend Jesse and I did some shopping for baby stuff (we picked up our stroller and car seat, plus a few sleepers/pajamas) and all day Sunday we were house hunting. It was a successful day, just pretty exhausting. We’re aiming to have a plan in place before the end of this week. I’m so excited that, one way or another, we’ll have an extra bedroom/a nursery for the baby!
Yesterday was my 25th and golden birthday! I requested a relaxing day and it turned out to be just that.
Jesse brought me breakfast in bed, my made-to-order meal based on what sounded good at the moment ;)
We hung out around the apartment for a while, took Zida for a nice long walk, and then got ready for the day.
I was hoping we could go to the beach or the park and just hang out in the sunshine for the afternoon, but the weather didn’t quite cooperate – it was cool and dreary, even misty for a while – so we made other plans.
We went to Chipotle for lunch.
Then we spent time wandering around a bookstore (I want to read all.the.books.) and I chose this one to take home with me.
I lounged at home reading for a while in the afternoon and we watched the movie Still Alice. It was really good. The book was certainly better, but both Jesse and I thought the movie was well done.
Jesse took me out for dinner and dessert at an awesome new-to-us Italian restaurant and then we called it a night!
It was a really nice day :) Thanks to everyone who sent birthday wishes my way! This year of 25 is sure to bring many adventures.
